In a time of rising and consistent security threats, organizations are taking proactive measures to anticipate attackers and protect sensitive assets. I.T. Security Specialists must have a comprehensive understanding of information security threats and weaknesses to reduce the risk of breaches. They install, configure and upgrade security software, educate employees on security best practices, keep an eye out for security breaches, and create plans to protect companies against unauthorized destruction or disclosure. I.T. Security Specialists must also act quickly to respond to attacks in real-time with the appropriate countermeasures.
The Security I.T. Associate program teaches students security concepts, tools, and procedures to respond to security incidents. Students will gain an in-depth knowledge of key security concepts around operational vulnerability, compliance, and access control identity management.
